Data Integration for Bird Migration Monitoring (Bachelor Thesis, Finished)

Bird migration plays a vital role in the global ecosystem. The seasonal movement of birds affects humans in many ways and needs to be understood better in order to prevent humans and birds from being damaged. The WeObserve project combines sensor data and field ob- servations with the goal of improving data collection, integration and analysis in this setting. As a part of this project, this thesis provides an integrated schema and a data integration process for multiple bird and weather data sources. We also describe the data sources, how they influenced the schema and our implementation of the integration. Additionally, we implemented a user interface that facilitates working with the integrated data.
